What is a Home Energy Retrofit?

A home energy retrofit enhances energy efficiency while providing a more comfortable and climate-resilient home. It can involve:

  • Improving the building envelope (windows, walls, roof) by enhancing insulation, sealing gaps and installing efficient windows and doors.
  • Replacing heating, cooling, ventilation and hot water systems with more efficient equipment, such as heat pumps.
  • Switching to energy-saving controls, appliances and lighting.
  • Going renewable with solar panels, giving your home its own source of clean electricity.
